NEW DOCTOR FOR RIVERBANK

Riverbank Medical Practice is delighted to announce that a new permanent GP is joining the Practice on 1st October 2007.

Dr Craig Loughead is a graduate of Aberdeen University and has worked in both Scotland and England in a variety of Medical posts giving him excellent experience and training for General practice. He has just completed a GP training post in Montrose.

Dr Loughead and his partner, Angela, have Caithness connections and are looking forward to moving north and settling here. In the meantine they are expecting their first baby during September….further news is awaited.

Dr Loughead joins the existing doctors and will be working full-time along with Dr Morrison and Dr Findlay. Drs Morris and Robertson continue their part-time commitment and Dr Fraser who became Clinical Director of the North Highland Community Health Partnership last year will also be working part-time in the Practice.

Practice Nurse Karen Gunn                            is also expecting her first baby, due in December. Karen will be stopping work soon but hopes to return next year after her Maternity Leave.

The Practice is very grateful to

Caithness Heart Support Group

for donating a new 24hour BP monitor. This allows for more accurate diagnosis of High Blood Pressure although not everyone needs this extra test. Our previous monitor served well for many years but had reached the end of its working life, so the replacement is very much appreciated.
